Equipment for pleasure boats

Cruising sail : mainsail
(full-batten)
Mainsail

The mainsail is the hardest working sail in any yachts wardrobe. It has to adapt to suit all weather conditions from zephyr to gale force and still provide the best performance. Confidence in our sail design, construction and material specifications allow us to give a Five Year Guarantee.

As with all Jeckell's sails, the conventional battened mainsail is designed to give optimum performance with ease of handling. We discuss your sailing requirements and using computer design, laser cutting technology, together with a careful choice of materials ensure that we manufacture the most suitable sail for you and your yacht. The conventional batten mainsail works with Jeckells Mainmate sail handling system.

Fully Battened Mainsail
Our fully battened mainsails are designed to give you the best performance, reduce heel and increase drive all combined to give ease of handling especially when used in conjunction with a Jeckells Mainmate sail handling system.

Combination Mainsail
For over 8 years, Jeckells have been making sails with battens which are almost full width in order to overcome the problems associated with older mast sections where the gate is well above the gooseneck. This sail may be used with the Jeckells Mainmate.

Jeckells
Jeckells have been manufacturing ITM (In The Mast) mainsails since the idea was first tested. There have been considerable technological improvements since its conception and we have perfected our ITM mainsail design in order to provide excellent performance on all points of sailing whether partially or fully unfurled.

Cruising sail : storm jib

Every boat, large or small, which ventures into open water should, as part of its essential equipment, carry storm sails. The primary objective in designing a storm sail is to provide sufficient sail area to maintain handling ability without overpowering the boat in severe conditions. To withstand these conditions, the sail must be made to a high specification using heavy duty materials.

Classic sail
Jeckells have been making gaff and gunter sails for over 170 years, from the smallest dinghy to the largest fishing smack. We have probably made more of these sails than anyone else in the industry and consequently have accumulated a considerable amount of experience.

Sail cover
The Jeckells Mainmate is designed to control any mainsail whether fitted with conventional or full length battens. Gone are the days of fighting your sail every time you raise, lower or reef. The Mainmate will keep control every time

To stow away the sail only requires a simple pull on the zip.

The mainmate is manufactured using the best quality acrylic which is resistant to U.V. and most airborne pollutants.

Available in the following colours:
Dark Blue, Royal Blue, Red, Cream, Green and White. Other colours by special request.

The Jeckells mainmate is simple to fit, slotting into the boom around the foot rope of your existing sail. It require no drilling or complicated fitting.

Mainmate comes complete with Lazyjacks and blocks to be fitted to the mast or spreaders and a separate wrap around boot to cover the luff and mast
